How to Ensure Your Agentic AI Projects Deliver Business Value and Long-Term Success

The rise of AI DIY tools like SAP Joule Studio 2.0 makes it easier than ever to build AI-powered solutions. But the success of agentic AI starts long before the first prompt is created. Choosing the right business problem, putting the right governance in place, and defining clear success measures are key to achieving lasting results. As organizations deal with rising AI costs, higher expectations for accuracy, and the need for human oversight, it is important to focus on use cases where AI delivers real business value while supporting human expertise. The most successful AI projects are not the ones that automate the most work, but the ones that solve the right problems and help people work more effectively.

In this session, participants will learn a practical approach to identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases, evaluating readiness across people, processes, and technology, and building the foundations for successful adoption. Attendees will gain practical guidance on how to maximize value from the start and turn AI experiments into scalable business results.

Jon Ensor was born in Oxford, England. He began performing magic at the age of 8, and set up as a professional at the age of 16. He has been a full-time professional entertainer since the year 2000. Jon has appeared on Norwegian national television on several occasions, including guest appearances on NRK’s top rating Saturday night shows Lindmo and Big Bang.

Notable performances include the King and Queen of Norway’s 80th birthday celebration in 2017, renowned businessman Petter Stordalen’s star-studded wedding in Marrakech in 2010, and private events for HM Queen Elisabeth II,  HRH Prince Charles, and other European and middle eastern Royalty.

In addition to speaking, hosting, and entertaining, Jon has provided speaker coaching and speech preparation services for business leaders and Royalty.

This session will be delivered remotely.

There is an empty chair at most strategy tables.
It belongs to the enterprise architect, and its absence has become the most expensive line item in corporate transformation.

The numbers are unforgiving. Seventy percent of digital transformations miss their objectives (McKinsey, 2024). Programs without architectural oversight run 3.2x over budget (Gartner, 2025).
When architecture arrives after the decision has been made, it arrives, on average, eighteen months too late.
I will in my presentation argue that the gap has less to do with technology than with the language architects have learned to speak. Boards speak in margin, growth, and risk. Too many architects still answer in layers and components. The cost of that translation failure now shows up on the and it will show up faster still as enterprises move toward autonomous operations, where architectural choices quietly determine which decisions a company is still free to make a decade from now.

This session will cover the following themes:

• Why Architects Must Sit at the Strategy Table and represent the value orchestration capability to succeed with the business strategy
• How does the road to the autonomous enterprise look like and what does it entail
• Tools of the trade like LeanIX and Signavio
• How to involve and commit top management as well as the board of directors
• Practical examples from SAP customers

RISE operates on a strict Shared Responsibility Model.

SAP manages the security and operations of the cloud, while you are 100% responsible for the security and operations in the cloud.

We will get a presentation on how responsibilities are divided after the transition to RISE, and where the Operations team needs to focus. For example, regarding application patching, the customer is responsible for evaluating, testing, and implementing application-level security notes. It is not "one contract, one SLA" meaning that SAP takes care of everything.  As another example, it is the customer's responsibility to request restores, manage system copies (test data refreshes), and handle data archiving/volume management.

We will also get practical customer examples based on experience from being a RISE customer.

Finance organisations are under growing pressure to move beyond static consolidation cycles: more frequent reporting cycles, often supporting scenarios, integrated planning and actuals, non-financial data alongside financials, and a platform that Finance can own and operate without depending on IT.
The SAP Enterprise Consolidation Platform, built natively on SAP BDC data layer, unifies consolidation of actuals, budgets, plans, forecasts, and non-financial data in a single governed model. It is dynamic yet simple to use and manage, and its ERP-agnostic architecture makes it well-suited for organisations with complex or multi-system landscapes, while its deep integration with the SAP ecosystem delivers optimised connectivity for SAP customers.

In this session, we will cover:

• What a data-centric consolidation approach means in practice, and how it differs from ERP-embedded consolidation
• Key capabilities: group consolidation, planning, scenario modelling, and reporting in one platform
• How the solution fits within SAP's broader EPM vision
• Live demonstration
• Q&A

This session is relevant whether you are on SAP or a non-SAP ERP, whether you are evaluating a consolidation platform for the first time or looking to modernise an existing one.

Regardless of whether you operate on-premise or in the cloud, hold the right SAP contract, have access to AI resources, or possess an emerging AI policy or technologies like Joule, Copilot, or large language models—and regardless of where you stand on your AI journey or whether you have adopted AI assistants or not—widespread experimentation, testing, and utilization of AI are taking place across Norwegian companies, on scales large and small.

Word of mouth tells of many people out there experimenting with AI and engaging in both pilot projects and actual practical applications. Examples include:

Using AI to create an ABAP program for cost allocation—because hours in the PS module were not captured in statistical key figures
Spending half an hour creating a program to consolidate spend data using AI, without relying on CDS views
Incorporating parts of the Business Integrity Screening controls into AI to generate reports, which were then deployed as Fiori tiles within just a few days

Espen Leknes from NTT Data initiates an exchange of thoughts and ideas regarding the use of AI and the extent to which it can be applied within SAP. Drawing on examples from a project with TGS, he demonstrates how AI assists with activity-based cost allocation and the management of master data.

We then open the floor for a plenary discussion, and the following questions may serve as a framework for the conversation:

•  Where do you stand?
  • Do you have an AI strategy, or are you still in the experimentation phase?
• What have you actually done?
  • What specific AI initiatives or pilots have you launched?
  • Have you tried anything that took only a few days to build but actually works?
• Where do you see the greatest value?
  • Productivity, automation, better decision-making, user experience—or entirely new work processes?
• Have you tried AI in Finance?
  • Examples of small or large-scale experiments: reporting, analysis, forecasting, reconciliation, invoice processing, controlling, treasury, etc.
• What has surprised you?
  • What worked better than expected—and what didn't work as well?
• What is happening over the next 12–24 months?
  • What will you do more of, and what needs to be in place to scale?

Behind every good answer is a little help from someone who knows where to look.

SAP Joule brings conversational AI into the user’s flow of work, but the complete business context often lives beyond the transaction itself, in documents, records, policies, contracts, and archived information.

In this session, we explore how Joule can work with a wider circle of specialized AI agents. Through agent-to-agent frameworks, Joule can connect the user’s question and SAP business context with OpenText capabilities that locate and understand the relevant governed content. Employees remain in SAP or SAP SuccessFactors, while the agents collaborate behind the scenes.
For HR, the result is faster access to trusted employee and policy information without manual searching. For IT, it is a vision for connecting AI services while preserving permissions, retention, auditability, and information governance. Joule remains the familiar face, but it never has to work alone.
