SBN visit latest member Eltek in Drammen
Eva-Maria and I visited our newest member, Eltek, on February 12 in Drammen and had a meeting with Svein-Erik Sund, IT Director, Muna Taarland, EMEA Applications Manager and Mari Mikkelsen, Sales Planning Coordinator. The purpose of our meeting was to introduce Eltek to The Norwegian SAP User Group, by explaining our events and services and to understand how we can be of assistance during Eltek’s journey with SAP.
Eltek specialises in power conversion technology, has headquarters in Drammen, operates globally with offices in 40 countries and has approximately 2000 employees worldwide. Since 2015, Eltek has been part of the Delta Group (70 000 employees), Headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan. However, Eltek operates as a separate entity and brand in the global market.
Eltek became SAP users in 2016 following the takeover by Delta and migrated their key business systems to SAP from IFS. The Delta global SAP system has 3 separate clients and is on version ECC 6, the main functionality being FI, CO, SD, MM and PP. Delta manages the system centrally from Taiwan and provides support from there through an internal SAP Centre of Excellence. IT in the EMEA Region also provides some support to SAP users in this region.
The discussion eventually focused on the challenges experienced by Eltek with this type of support model and the benefits that could be derived from a local, user network particularly with a view to knowledge sharing. Eltek are interested in coming into contact with other SBN member companies who are in a similar situation to them and we at SBN are interested in facilitating this type of networking and knowledge sharing. Any members who feel they have similar experiences as Eltek’s and would like to participate are encouraged to contact me or Eva-Maria at SBN and we will investigate and take appropriate steps to start some form of collaboration.
