Our SBN president Kolbjørn Havnes in his part of the annual SBN report for 2021 (see link) shared wisdom from implementing S/4HANA at Hydro. Pls. find below extract from his report.
"Quite a number of member companies are struggling how to move from existing ECC solutions to S4 HANA. Most companies seemingly are approaching migration. SAP is doing an excellent job technically migrating newer ECC version to S/4HANA.
My experience is a migration will be a timely process with much effort afterwards over several years to gradually harvest the HANA capabilities.
My advice is therefore, before you decide between greenfield and migration, to closely study the technical capabilities of the HANA technology. Focus on how your company can utilise S/4HANA functionality, like data storage, cross module data transfers, user interface, authorization concept and reporting capability, etc and check if eventual a Greenfield implementation is worth the longer implementation project as you can harvest from the full S/4HANA capability very quick.
Ensure you have the total picture related to pre-implementation,-implementation and -post implementation efforts before you decide on your journey." / All the best Kolbjørn

In S/4HANA you will find ready to run solutions like Mass Creation of Business Partner from Excel. A Bot which needs to be Downloaded from the SAP Bot Store. (A Bot is a small program, in this case for mass creation of BPs.)
RPA in S/4HANA, you will find a list on ready Robot programs on this link or if you search the SAP Bot Store. With RPA it's possible to automate repetitive manual processes. There is also a SAP Conversational AI Bot's which make SAP talk. They are called SAP CoPilot. A free test can be found on this link Learning videos on this link.
