SBN Decommission and Archiving

Start: 22/09 09:00

Decommission and Archiving

September 22nd, 09:00-14:00.

Access to historical data but not stored in the new S/4HANA system. This system works best if as clean as possible to enable you to take advantage of the Fiorised new best practise processes in the new system. Migrate only live data and open documents.

We have created this virtual day to give you support in this path to S/4HANA without historical data demanding old process to be used. There are many advantages if you manage to archive data instead of moving into the new environment and there are cost savings if do not need your old SAP environment. Take only the “live” data into the S/4HANA environment but ensure you have the history needed and access to reporing figures and documents. To decommission the old SAP system is a project before the big project.  It creates value to archive before migration to S/4HANA.

Networking - Join in early to talk a little with us 😊

09:00-09:05

Welcome by Eva-Maria and Didrik to a day where we focus on, how to get access to data, not stored in an SAP system.

We all know all IT systems work best if they are clean. To clean makes it easier to take advantage new best practise processes in a new system. The advice is to migrate only live data and open documents.

We have created this virtual day to give you support in this path to S/4HANA without historical data. Master Data and Transactional Data demanding the old process to be used. There are many advantages if you manage to archive data instead of moving the data into the new environment. There are cost savings if do not need the storing space or your old SAP environment. Take only the “live” data into the S/4HANA environment. Ensure you have the history needed and access to reporing figures and documents. To clean and decommission the old SAP system is a project before the big project which you need to start as soon as possible. It takes time and will create a lot of value to archive before the migration to S/4HANA.

PS: We will have a small competition due out the day where you can winn giftcards if you know the answer and small surveys to find out what the audience thisngs of the topics of the day.

Store your archived Data in an ISO 27001-certified platform, with secure, role-based access and extensive audit trails.

Whether you are adapting to business changes through mergers and divestitures, or embracing the latest technology like SAP S/4HANA® or SAP SuccessFactors®, you need to consider what to do with your legacy data to make sure you comply with global data privacy legislation and regulations. Archive Central™ is a secure platform that gives you read-only access to structured and unstructured data, without having to keep legacy SAP systems running

Karin and her EPI-USE Labs team will share experience from the use of their solution Archive Central. The solution is often used for Retirement of legacy systems, Right-sizing of ERP systems (control and limit data growth in ERP systems), To give access to Knowledge base content as well as for Data archiving for non-SAP data.

Archive Central provides a controlled mechanism to share the relevant master and transactional data to the relevant parties for regulatory and governance purposes. Archive Central is optimized for SAP systems, but it also supports most other systems.

  • The Project steps of a EPI-USE Labs decommission project
  • Need for resources from the customer
  • Obstacles which you need to handle

EPI-USE Labs will also very brief cover how you access your data in the archive by showing the data access by a show case. This will reply to questions like: How to find a document? How will a report look?

Why you have to start your Transition Journey to SAP S/4HANA now!

precisely winshuttleSurveys on the topic of S/4HANA show that many companies have not yet started the migration from their current system to the new platform. They are reluctant to embark on what they perceive to be a gigantic project.

Or the organizations are not yet as far along with their migration as they had actually planned. The reasons are lack of time, lack of resources and concentration  on other IT priorities. And one of the biggest challenges is the Master Data Management.

In our presentation, we will show how Winshuttle/Precisely solutions can support to implement successful migration projects. We can explain by showing the project of one of our customers, Scientific Drilling, how our solutions help organizations to move their data from an existing system to S/4HANA. With a focus on migrating data by using automated processes, which deliver a high data quality, with only limited support of the IT Department.
