The shift to a low carbon future requires organisations in every sector to make radical commitments to reduce their carbon footprint, build resilience across their organisation, and change their business models. A significant number of businesses have announced clear decarbonization goals or related commitments, however, there is a sense that plans and delivery don’t match the ambition of these commitments. Businesses are often unclear on how best to address the opportunities and risks presented by the climate transition, and what ambitious targets mean for their business.

SAP strategy and trends in the Nordics.

Helle Dochedahl is Chief Operating Officer for the Nordic and Baltic countries. She started her career at SAP in 1993 and has always been very close to the development - from manual printouts to the AI-based business solutions. 

If she can not meet people in a personal meeting, she insists on video calls to get closer to employees and her team. For Helle  relations and people are important and she thinks diversity is much more than age and gender, it is about cultures, countries, values ​​and how we are socialized. She believes we create better businesses if we create smart solutions together and has focus on the business value that technology creates

"In the Nordic countries, companies tend to focus a lot on having the latest technology, but perhaps less on what value the technology really creates for the people within the companies, says Helle. In my role I want to work to ensure that our customers see us as more than just a supplier of technical solutions or software platform. 

My focus is to ensure we clarify the concrete value that our software solutions give to the people at customer companies. We do this by working closely with many companies and based on the feedback we get. I always have that business philosophy with me in my daily work. Jointly in SAP and with our customers and partners we make the Nordic region the best business part within SAP."

Jan Egeland will highlight the crucial role digital technology and partnerships between the humanitarian sector and the tech sector have. Partnerships have made it possible to deliver assistance to those who need it the most. As example humanitarian workers do stay and deliver on the frontlines and need technology to adapt their ways of working. 

Jan Egeland will explain the devastating consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdowns for people affected by conflict and displacement.

New technology can be used to accelerate collective action and allowing NRC to reach more crisis-affected people faster.  Technology today supports and will in the future even be even better adapted to and informed by crisis-affected people needs and expectations.  

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) assists people in over 30 countries worldwide. NRC sees that environmental change is a driver of conflicts. PRESENTATION will be given as 15 minutes interview discussion between Jan Egeland and Sean Nicholsonboath from NRC.

This will be followed by a 10 minutes presentation by Drew Birtwistle who will present the SAP Rapid Disaster Response (RDR), part of  SAP One Billion Lives venture.  SAP's  technologies are used to support people impacted by disaster and conflict worldwide. SAP is a partner of the Norwegian Refugee Council and RDR is currently engaged in projects in as example South Sudan and Mali but also in other locations, digitizing the data collection and analysis process with the goal of improving the accuracy and speed of aid delivery.

Lack of early involvement from qualified SAP cyber security staff can easily become a very expensive and long-term struggle to get your SAP systems and environment up to the security level it should be. Failure to do so will leave your critical assets exposed to internal as well as external threats.

Orkla has entered its third year of a greenfield S4/HANA implementation project and will in this presentation share its learnings from the SAP Cyber Security part of the project. This is an area which is often synonymous with roles & authorizations, but as you will see it is a lot more complex and wide-ranging than that. A live demo of a full system hack based on a recent SAP vulnerability will also be presented.
